What are frown lines?
Frown lines, sometimes called the “Eleven” lines, are vertical lines between the eyebrows as a result of frowning or squinting in deep focus. Bad eyesight or inaccurate corrective lenses can also contribute to deepening these lines.
Frown lines appear during expressive movement of these brow-associated muscles, but may remain even at rest as the creases settle in over time (static wrinkles). The main muscles here are anatomically known as the glabellar complex.
How do frown lines impact our appearance?
Over-expression of our glabellar complex can cause frown lines to become permanent, even when the muscle is relaxed, or expressing laughter. This, in turn, may have an aging effect on our appearance.
